i have visited this side so many times since when it cost was very low.i enjoyed everythong here.now interior has been change but voice of franklin...is still amaze us and he is as impressive as in past. excellent.

I visited Marco Polo for Hi-tea with my family today and found it a nice experience on the whole. The last time I had visited the same place for Hi-tea was back in 2007 and there have been several changes since then. The restaurant is nice and spacious with ample walking space and a dimly lit interior. I particularly liked the simple but elegant table setting along with bowls of fresh flowers placed in the center of each table. There was considerable variety in what was on offer: fried fish, beef seekh kebab, chicken patties, vegetable tempura, tandoori pizza, chicken haleem, make-your-own sandwiches, a dahee baray setup (make your own, with a variety of toppics including assorted nimko), fruits chaat, cereals, gol gappay set up, khattay aaloo, mini burgers being freshly made, dosas, kachori, samosas, pakoras, jalebi, etc. While the dosas were nothing special (I prefer them to be crisp, not pancake-ey), the fried fish and kebabs were delicious, as was the haleem and chaat. The desserts were nice, yes, but this the area of their menu requires rethinking and improvement. The desserts on offer included fresh cream pineapple cake (my sister felt it was too salty), mini lemon tarts, brownies (not moist like they should be), danish pastries (not upto the mark, in fact the pineapple in mine was slightly too acidic), muffins, donuts (very doughy and heavy, when they should have been light). One of the better items was the date cake, and the chocolate cream cake (layered sponge). As for the best option on display, it was definitely the warm and delicious gulab jamun. :) My sister had several but insisted she had had just two. :) Besides these, there was also gola ganda, as well as green and red jellies. I have to mention the kulfi separately... because this was a shocker, I'm afraid to say, in the *negative* sense. It seemed someone had put salt in instead of sugar... every spoonful hit you with a shot of saltiness, which is neither pleasant on the palate nor healthy, even for those people who're not a salt-restricted diet. I had trouble finishing off mine, even though I try not to waste any food when eating. The coffee and tea were wonderful and a nice way to wash down everything else. There was, however, lemonade on offer too (here too, I feel they should have had more drinks to choose from - in my last trip, they had served pakola and red sherbet too). All in all, a nice experience and one we enjoyed as a family. The food was not greasy or heavy, in fact, eaten in a moderate amount and while tasting most of the things on the menu, it did not leave one feeling too full. :) As for the cost, it came to about Rs 700 per head after including taxes. This makes the Hi-tea option a good one for people looking to dine in comfort while also not looking to eat too much or a full fledged dinner or brunch. :) If PC can look to improve certain aspects of the Hi-tea, they'll get even better ratings. :)

Pricey yes! but worth an evening, would recommend the brunch as its the best!classic and chic.. food quality is also good, what you would expect of a hi end resturant.
