The Hottest Crust In Town - Pizza Crust Review by Waqas A. Saeed
Amidst the mushroom growth
of pizza parlors in Karachi city, Pizza Crust is one of the latest pizza place
to hit town. Interestingly enough, located at Boat Basin (near Baloch ice
cream) where already exists immense competition of Desi & Fast food outlets
but none so of any Pizza serving Restaurant (Pizza Hut now being on the other
side of the road). Pizza Crust exists as solo pizza serving parlour on the
street.
Pizza Crust, with its
similar Branding elements as Pizza Hut, might go unnoticed from right under
your nose because of generic color scheme but their pizza is anything but regular.
They follow a simple concept of creating differentiation through the provision
of high quality and great tasting pizza. The ‘No Shashka, Just Chaska’ tagline
being used by a local FMCG brand in its advertising campaign these days,
certainly applies to them. The owner, Mr. Kosar Iqbal, has over 10 years of experience
in food (meat, spices, recipes, etc) supplying to restaurants. He finally
decided to integrate forward and open up a restaurant of his own. His
experience, knowledge and understanding of the raw materials and their
dynamics, certainly puts him at a relative advantage over his competitors.
All pizza’s have a fresh
and crunchy crust. Given the name of the outlet, it had to be! Pizza lovers
must try the Cheese Deluxe and the Pepperoni Feast at Pizza Crust. They are two
of their best offerings. Cheese Deluxe is a cheese lover’s dream, whereas the
Pepperoni Feast is a tantalizing proposition for the taste buds. An interesting
option in the menu is of the Boat Basin Feast. It is a spicy, slightly
localized version of their European Feast. The fusion is definitely worth a
try. Additionally, the Beef Lasagne and the Chicken Tikka Sandwich are appetizing
options for those not in the mood for Pizza.
Launched around 3 months
back, Pizza Crust was only entertaining customers with takeaways and
deliveries. The response was much better than expected and thus 2 weeks back
they expanded by opening up a small dine-in wing. That sends out a signal, that
the place is doing well. Maybe next time your tummy sends you a pizza craving
signal, you might want to give Pizza Crust a try, and just to make things better - for this Ramadan only, they have introduced all you can Eat & Drink Feast at for Rs. 599/- Inclusive on all Taxes.
